Package: mutella
Version: 0.3.3-4
Severity: important

With QuietMode = no, mutella hangs upon exit, and doesn't autoconnect to
any servers. Some discussion of these symptoms can be found at
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=678384&forum_id=114922

I'm running mutella behind NAT and a firewall. The info command is
indeed also slow. The symptoms are rectified by typing set QuietMode
yes. This allows for the manual connection to a server of known ip
address using the open command. From there, doing set QuietMode no will
allow it to start connecting to hosts from its host cache. This process
is not always successful however. If this works, mutella will maintain
connections as long as possible, demonstrating that it does work behind
the NAT and firewall. Eventually though it runs out of
viable hosts, and fails to make new connections, apparently when it
starts to attempt to use the autoconnect servers. tcpdump does display
attempted connections to the autoconnect servers, so it does appear to
be trying. Also perhaps of note, when QuietMode = yes, info is of
normal speed, and the software does not hang upon exit.

The mutella package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/489422 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
