I'm the maintainer of the vnc4 package. During the development of
lenny a number of changes has been done to the build environment.
New kernel and new gcc. This has caused a number of FTBFS on a
variety of platforms such as alpha, amd64, powerpc, ia64 and so on.
Most of them has been solved, by simply commenting out include
files, or doing specific changes to that architecture.
However there is one problem remaining on alpha architecture and
this problem seem hard to solve. The source require access to asm/pci.h
but this file is not available on alpha. For more information about
this matter see #491433.

Search for "error:" and you will find where the problem is.
Based on this I would like the vnc4 package to be accepted to
testing even though it is not buildable on alpha architecture and
it has been so in the past. The reason is that even the package in
etch FTBFS on current testing build infrastructure.

We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
