Package: fmirror

fmirror sends nearly all output to stderr. Imho only errors should be sent
to stderr, nothing else. It is quite annoying to read cron's output each day
that file are transferred, and quite dangerous to redirect stderr to null to
get rid of them, because if there are problems, admin would not get the
info.

On the other hand, some errors (parsing arguments) are sent to stdout...

Looking at the source, logging is the pain of fmirror - complicated,
undocumented, unuseable. I'll probably try to write a patch that fixes the
situation at least a bit.

The fmirror package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/490982 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
