Package: fmirror
Version: 1:0.8.4beta-2
Severity: wishlist
Hi,
I use fmirror to maintain a local Debian mirror. I can use two Debian
mirrors as master for my mirror, both of which are on broadband ATM
lines that I don't have to pay traffic on. Other ftp traffic needs to
be paid for. Unfortunately, both of my "no-cost" masters are a little
problematic and frequently are missing parts of the archive. This
causes my mirror to be incomplete as well since fmirror proceeds to
delete half of my archive when my master goes out of sync.
What I'd like to have is an option to have two master mirrors (maybe
by giving multiple host/remotedir directives in the config file).
In the first stage, all masters should be polled for a list of their
files. Then, fmirror should decide which files to download, and which
to delete from the local path. Only files that aren't present on
neither master should be deleted locally. In the download stage, there
should be configurable which master to prefer, with an option do
simultaneously downloading from all available mirrors. A file that is
only present on one of the masters must be downloaded form there, of
course.
I'd like to see that implemented in fmirror; I really appreciate that
program.
Greetings
Marc

The fmirror package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.
