Package: cryptsetup
Version: 2:1.0.6-2
Severity: wishlist

The tries and timeout parameters from /etc/crypttab should be passed as
2nd and 3rd parameter to the keyscript (in both,... normal startup and
the initrd-scripts).

The existing decrypt-scripts should be adapted to use the parameters
instead of the hard-coded settings.

Best wishes,
Chris.

Hello,

The discussion of this bugreport demonstrated that the request is bad
design, as

1) keyscripts should neither depend on more, nor on less arguments than
exactly one to provide backwards compability.

2) it's not the keyscripts job to implement $tries and $timeout. That
   belongs to the init(ramfs) script.

3) if you really want some keyscript to implement $tries and $timeout,
you're free to write one on your own.

Now that $tries is handled by both cryptroot initramfs script and
cryptdisks initscript directly for all situations (passphrase,
keyfile, keyscript), the request is not even valid anymore.

Therefore, I close this bugreport.

greetings,
 jonas
