The OCS Inventory system has been proposed for the Debian Edu
subproject, and we are currently testing it for the Lenny release.
This has exposed a few issues.
The most important issue is that it fail to install and configure
properly from within debian-installer. It is unable to connect to the
mysql server, and thus fail to configure itself. No process is
allowed to start within the /target/ chroot generated by
debian-installer, so there is no surprise that it is unable to connect
to the server.
Any idea how we can install and configure ocsinventory-server at
install time from within debian-installer? Any debconf preseeding
values we can set to get it to work without a running mysql server?
