Strange indeed. Thanks for that info. The md5 on the
tar.bz2 was right but there was both an
/usr/src/modules/lirc and an /usr/src/modules/lirc-modules,
the lirc was from an older version which was getting used
/by m-a. Cleaning out /usr/src/modules did the trick.
