Package: libboost-dev
Version: 1.34.0-1
Severity: important
BOOST_ROOT is not set, making it very difficult to use bjam to build anything
that relies on libboost. I still haven't
successfull figured out what BOOST_ROOT would be on a Debian install.

Hi,
This bug report requests that BOOST_ROOT be set. According to the
getting started guide [1], BOOST_ROOT is the root directory of the
source code. The Debian packages do not provide source code, so I'm
not clear why you would need this.
Maybe you really want system Jam files as requested in
bug 490380 [2]?
Please re-open with more information if [2] is not your aim.
Regards,
-Steve
