Package: bazaar
Version: 1.4.2-5.3
Severity: minor

(context)
The description of the package 'bazaar' warns that it is becoming obsolete:
(quote)
> Unless you have a pressing reason to use bazaar you should use some
> other revision control system as upstream development has ceased.

(bug)
However the description fails to mention that there is a very good and
actively developed Version Control Software *of the same name*, in the
package named bzr. A user to whom Bazaar has been recommended, but who
hasn't been warned that the arch-derived 'bazaar' is becoming obsolete
while the new Bazaar is packaged as bzr, is confused (I was). I suggest
adding to the above description a short phrase like

(proposed patch)
"You might be looking for the Bazaar packaged as bzr."

(more technical info on bug context)
Currently using fully up-to-date Debian testing, where both (bazaar, bzr)
packages exist.

Thank you for taking the time to report a bug against bazaar.

However bazaar is no longer part of Debian and, therefore, this bug is
being closed.

Regards,
Anand
