Package: ire
Version: 0.92-2
Severity: normal
Since the BTS refuses to let me clone a merged bug report, here's what's
happening:
ire currently segfaults on 64-bit architectures (see #353776 and friends
for the full story), and a fix does not appear to be coming in the short
term.
Thus, I'm going to remove the three 64-bit architectures (alpha, amd64, ia64)
from the Architecture: list and NMU ire; this will solve #353776. Then, I'm
going to submit a bug against ftp.debian.org, asking for the removal of the
binaries of ire and ire-bin for these three architectures. Together, this
will make sure the same removals happen in testing, and we have one (or
three, depending on how you count) less RC bug in testing.
Then, all that is left is the (non-RC) request to port ire to 64-bit
architectures. That's what this bug is going to be tracking. :-)

The ire package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.
For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/498090 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.
Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.
Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
