don't import any of the deb-files, reporting "skipped - no suitable
backend found" for all of them, while most of them are found in the
Packages files and "apt-get update" don't help.

Thanks for your reply, even if it won't help to fix your (very old)
issue. I'll thus close this bug as we cannot debug it without more
information.
For your information, I'm not the package maintainer - I'm just trying
to sort all opened bugs on apt-proxy...
