Package: libboost-filesystem1.35-dev
Version: 1.35.0-5
Severity: normal

Installing the package pulls lots of other packages (I used Synaptics):

Here is the list of all packages, libboost-filesystem1.35-dev pulled in.
These are no direct dependencies of libboost-filesystem1.35-dev, but
libboost-filesystem1.35-dev was the one I choosed. Installing all those
is annoying - libboost1.35-doc is 149 MB in size, and I will never read
it. Just very few packages use boost.

I'm sorry to hear that you are annoyed. However, there is no bug
so I'm closing this report.

Here are the list of packages that libboost-filesystem1.35-dev depends on,
recommends, and suggests:

So you can see that the -doc package is not one of them. The -dev
package is required, however. Installing -dev will pull in some more
packages, but most of those you listed --- including -doc --- are
*NOT* dependencies of -dev, but are RECOMMENDED by -dev. You probably
have synpatic configured to automatically install all recommended
packages. In fact, I believe that is the default configuration.

So you are free to uninstall the -doc at any time.

Regards,
-Steve
