Package: reprepro
Version: 3.6.2-1
I've discovered that for a particular file, the sha256 implementation in
reprepro gets the wrong answer (at least, GNU coreutils, openssl, and
the implementation on aarongifford.com all agree on one value, whilst
reprepro gets something else.)
Unfortunately the file in question is (a) huge, and (b) not
distributable. I will continue attempting to track down the exact bug,
but meanwhile, perhaps it would be worth considering replacing the
built-in hashing code in reprepro with linkage against OpenSSL, or some
other, better proved, embedded implementation.
