Package: Installer(?)
Version: debian-testing-i386-KDE-CD-1.iso (downloaded 28Sep08)
and
Linux Magazine (October 2008) debian 5.0 LENNY DVD
Insert CDROM/DVD get message "Image loaded" and message "Booting the kernel"
Install menu appears > choose any install option gives the following
error messages:
hdc: drive not ready for command
BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 11 seconds [modprobe:746]
Added Information:
I received the Lenny DVD with Linux Magazine and I tried to install it.
The above mentioned errors appeared. I assumed a bad DVD so I downloaded
the Lenny KDE CD and I got the same results.
I tried a SystemRescueCD and a Kubuntu 8.04.1 Live CD and I experienced
no errors.
Hope this helps.
Please advise if you need anything else.
Paul

An Example Bug Report
A bug report with header and pseudo-header looks something like this:
To: [email protected]
From: [email protected]
Subject: Hello says `goodbye'
Package: hello
Version: 1.3-16
When I invoke `hello' without arguments from an ordinary shell
prompt it prints `goodbye', rather than the expected `hello, world'.
Here is a transcript:
$ hello
goodbye
$ /usr/bin/hello
goodbye
$
I suggest that the output string, in hello.c, be corrected.
I am using Debian GNU/Linux 2.2, kernel 2.2.17-pre-patch-13
and libc6 2.1.3-10.
