Whenever I connect to my windows XP machine, I get a black square under the
mouse pointer (cursor). This obscures what is under the cursor. The cursor
itself behaves normally and clicking is OK.
I tested various settings of color depth, resolution etc.
I have a matrox G100 video card; someone suggested tweaking the 'software
cursor' or 'hardware cursor', but that seems unavailable since XFree86 4.
