Package: virtualbox-ose
Version: 1.6.6-dfsg-3
Severity: normal
I am using a kernel from sidux, when i tried to install virtualbox-ose it
wanted to install the latest
debian kernel with virtualbox modules for it. The expected behaviour would be
to install the source
and then ask me to use m-a to compile the module.
Anyway installing the source and creating the module before trying to install
the package makes
the debian kernel dep disappear.

virtualbox-ose recommends virtualbox-ose-modules, which is a virtual
package provided by prebuild virtualbox binary modules from
linux-modules-extra-2.6.
if you distribution does not contain matching linux-modules-extra-2.6,
that's their fault and not a bug in debian. you should report that in
the bug tracker of the distribution you are using.
as a workaround, you also could disable automatic installation of
recommended packages, see man 5 apt.conf, or as you stated yourself,
make the recommends fulfiled by building and installing matching modules
with m-a before installing virtualbox-ose.
