Package: reportbug
Version: 3.39-0.1
Severity: wishlist

In many cases, I need to report bugs about a package that is actually
being built at that time. If reportbug checked for debian/changelog, it
could get the package name from that file without needing to specify it
again on the command line.

In this mode, reportbug could offer to include more useful information
like:
$ tail -20 ../$package_$version_$arch.build
if the build log ends with "dpkg-buildpackage: failure" etc.

Maybe reportbug could also set FTBFS in the bug report in this mode too.

(It would be nice for reportbug to ask before including ~/.reportbugrc
too.)

ii python 2.5.2-1 An interactive high-level object-o
ii python-central 0.6.6 register and build utility for Pyt

reportbug recommends no packages.

I'm sorry, but this is not going to be implemented: what if I notice a
bug in a build-depends package while I'm in the dir of the building
pkg and I want to report a bug to that other? And this is just a
simple example.

And what if I build a package in a chroot (tipically pbuilder, with
different paths) or if I don't want the resulting package or the build
process to happen in .. but in another directory?

Well, Lucas sends tons of FTBFS :) and embed the relevant log into the
mail body (ok, he's not using reportbug, but still)

If you feel it's needed, please log a separate bug, even if I think
it's fine like it's now.

Cheers,
