Package: empathy
Version: 0.23.3-3
Severity: important

Just installed empathy on Debian lenny (fresh install) and tried to start it.
It didn't exit, but didn't show any UI whatsoever either. Used empathy-accounts
to add and enable a Salut account; didn't make any difference.

Steps to reproduce:
1. EMPATHY_DEBUG=all empathy

Expected:
Show any kind of user interface. According to [1], it should show the "Empathy
Main Window".

Got:
Only debug output. No new window, no dock icon, nothing.
Debug output:

Additional info:
I'm using ion3 as window manager. None of the usual "desktop environments"
(KDE, Gnome, etc.) has been installed.

No.

You should find the configuration for NetworkManager (nm-applet or
knetworkmanager perhaps) and check its settings. You may find it easier
to just use ifupdown instead of NetworkManager, but this is all up to
you. Empathy assumes network connectivity when it cannot talk to NM.

I'm closing this bug now with my aforementioned reasons. If you feel
there is still a bug in Empathy, feel free to reopen and retitle this
bug.

Thanks,
