It's helpful to have the .el files in the same directory as the .elc
files so various help browsing can find them. Eg. following the link in
"C-h f"
C-h f icicle-mode
C-x o
Tab Ret
=> Can't find library icicles-mode.el
One good way to do it is symlink instead of cp the .el files when
byte-compiling, and just leave those links, to be deleted by the remove
script later.
(Having the .el's in the same directory is better than adding the source
dir to load-path since the latter tends to make `list-load-path-shadows'
think there's duplication.)
