Debian Sarge.
I have just uninstalled slocate but it was working this way:
A)
u...@$slocate mydata
.../mydata/...
.../mydata.doc

B)we rename dir
u...@$mv mydata herdata

C)we try it again renamed DIR is missing
u...@$slocate mydata
.../mydata.doc
[.../mydata/... WAS MISSING]

D)but root sees it!
r...@$slocate mydata
.../mydata/...
.../mydata.doc

E)renaming BACK
u...@$mv mydata herdata

F) as at begining user sees it as before
u...@$slocate mydata
.../mydata/...
.../mydata.doc

I think C) should be the same as A) or F) or D). Or IF NOT, so:
D)-root should be the same as C)-user

Thanks for slocate & Debian.
Thanks for maintaing slocate & our great packages.

Version: 3.1-1.1+rm

The slocate package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/457565 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.

Kind regards,
