Package: slocate
Version: 3.1-2.1custom1
Severity: normal

Installation of slocate moves diverts etc/cron.daily/find to
/etc/cron.daily/find.notslocate but doesn't disable it, so both
/etc/cron.daily/find.notslocate and /etc/cron.daily/slocate are run
daily, resulting in updatedb being run twice in a row.
Maybe the slocate script could check the the mtime on the database and
if it is less than 12 hours old skip running updatedb?
Or maybe /etc/cron.daily/find.notslocate should be disabled alltogether,
as /usr/bin/updatedb.notslocate is not being run and therfore the locate
database is not being updated. In fact the file name find.notslocate is
misleadinng because it IS slocate, as updatedb, that is being run.

The slocate package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/457565 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.

Kind regards,
