I've just uploaded to current unstable gmetadom, as part of the OCaml
3.11 transition. It built properly against gcc 4.3. I believe the
build problem you mentioned was already addressed by this patch
(already applied to the package):

My guess is that you tried to build a former version of the package,
which was missing the patch. Given your bug report did not include
the package version, I cannot verify whether the guess is right or
not.
I'm closing the report anyhow as gmetadom correctly builds fine with
gcc 4.3.
