Package: gimp
Version: 2.6.5-1
Severity: wishlist

As of version 2.6, gimp-remote is no longer necessary since gimp will
check for running instances automatically. Since some applications
rely on gimp-remote (for example gqview in default configuration), it
would be nice to have some wrapper script that simply forks gimp with
the same options. It should exit with a nonzero exit code when called
with the -q or -e options, which are not supported any more. It might
be possible to emulate these options by some D-Bus messages, but I
don't think these options receive much use.

I didn't know that there already was a transition period. Forget
about the report.
