I have this problem to since etch. Yesterday i updated my server to Lenny and 
the problem is still available.

The problem was solved for the bug  reporter  by  installing  the  amd64
architecture and since  I  can  only  simulate  this  bug  by  read-only
mounting my NFS based ${HOME} or removing the sticki  bit  from  /tmp  I
close this bug.
