Seems to be an old bug, i can't reproduce it with current version in
stable (with notification and python plugin support both activated).
xchat-gnome changelog(s) (debian & upstream) don't shows any fix with
dbus...

Closing this bug for now, don't hesitate to open another if i am wrong
about and the problem still occurs in current Debian version of
xchat-gnome.
