Package: rhythmbox
Version: 0.12.0-2
Severity: normal
All strings from song metadata from mt-daapd seem to be shown with a wrong
encoding. When I play a song, it is show correcly in the log file of
mt-daapd:
Streaming file '06 - Mátate Teté.mp3'
This is the corresponing screenshot of the rhythmbox GUI:
http://tikei.de/rhythmbox.png
This happens with the whole music archive. The song metadata is shown
correctly when browsing the music directly from the filesystem, without
mt-daapd.

OK, closing then.

That would be GStreamer. IIRC the problem of wrong ID3 encoding is so
common that GStreamer makes guesses about the encoding; if it actually
looks like UTF-8, it assumes it is UTF-8 even when the standard says the
opposite.
