Version: 9.001
Severity: important
After configuring my kernel with make menuconfig, I tried to compile it
as usual with make-kpkg kernel-image. This failed with the following
error message:
debian/rules:1637: *** Error. I do not know where the kernel image goes
to [kimagedest undefined] The usual case for this is that I could not
determine which arch or subarch tihs machine belongs to. Please specify
a subarch, and try again.. Stop.
My system is an ASUS A1300 laptop with a celeron processor.

Hi,
The problem usually is that ./debian/ was created by version
9.000, which was buggy. Unfortunately, buggy enough that, since
make-kpkg pays attention to ./debian, it even prevents make-kpkg
clean from working. However, 9.000 was only in Sid, which is good,
since fixing this is not really feasible (rm -rf ./debian is the best
way out).
