Package: binutils
Version: 2.17cvs20070426-1
Severity: normal

I can no longer build the nsis package. The segfaulting command is:

g++ -o build/release/makensis/makensis -Wall -g -O2 -m32
-Wl,-Map,build/release/makensis/makensis.map -s -pthread

build/release/makensis/zlib/trees.o -Lbuild/release/makensis -LSource -lpthread

I tried the versions from experimental and unstable on
snapshot.debian.net and the last binutils version that worked was
2.17.20070406cvs-1. A possibly related bug is #421328.

Unfortunately I don't have time to debug this problem further and will
use 2.17.20070406cvs-1 for now. Leaving this bug at severity normal
since it doesn't seem to affect many packages.

closing the report, #421328 was closed as well. please reopen if it's
reproducible with current binutils in unstable.
