Package: binutils-doc
Version: 2.14.90.0.6-5
Severity: normal
Building binutils from source on stable leaves one with a binutils-doc
package that, when installed, does not configure:
Setting up binutils-doc (2.14.90.0.6-5) ...
No `START-INFO-DIR-ENTRY' and no `This file documents'.
install-info: unable to determine description for `dir' entry - giving up
dpkg: error processing binutils-doc (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
binutils-doc
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
E: Failed to process build dependencies
Upgrading texinfo from 4.1-2 (normal version on stable) to 4.6-1
before building binutils solves this. As there doesn't seem to be any
intermediate texinfo version around, binutils should probably contain
Build-Depends: texinfo (>= 4.6-1)
