"sid" is not recognized as a release either. According to man "-t experimental" 
should work 100%::

  For instance, "aptitude -t experimental ..."  will install packages from the

  As far as I can tell, python-virtualenv is not available in
experimental.

  python-virtualenv is available in testing, but you don't have a
testing line in sources.list, so aptitude doesn't know this.

  The one thing that I find a bit surprising is that "aptitude show"
continues even when it can't find the requested archive.  However,
this seems more useful to me than just printing nothing (it just picks
an arbitrary version of the package and prints it).
