There is a new version of Verlihub recently released which fixes a
number of things that are extremely helpful for running DirectConnect
hubs in LAN-only environments (ie. college campuses). The new version
is 0.9.8e and hopefully it can be packaged for Debian soon.

The verlihub package has been removed from Debian so we are closing
the bugs that were still opened against it.
