Package: touchfreeze
Version: 0.2.3-1
Severity: important
TouchFreeze does not disable the touchpad unless the X SHMConfig option is
enabled. Since that option is not enabled by default, TouchFreeze "doesn't
work" by default. This is well documented in README.Debian, the actual
problem is that the interface (which is launched from the utilities menu)
does not give any clue about this. When started in console, it whines:
$ touchfreeze
SynDaemon::SynDaemon
set daemon true
set pad true
using typing delay of 500 ms
"/usr/bin/synclient"
initial state is TouchpadOff= 0

I believe that touchfreeze "just works" with new versions of the synaptics
driver and probably doesn't need to be any more informative when started on
the command line. Thanks and closing bug.
Thanks, Kel.
