perhaps include a reportbug hook informing the user that the debian syslinux
maintainers prefer upstream bugs be reported upsteam, and a brief pointer of
how to do so.
though often it is difficult for people not intimately familiar with the code
to know what is upstream and what is a bug in debian's build.

thanks for the good intention, however, i don't think that's reasonable
- i'd need to add a 'please report upstream wishlist bugs to the
upstream bugtracker' notice to each and every package.
