On my tests the g15daemon clears the screen and turn light
off as expected.
Your bug report miss the version of g15daemon, which is
strange, because it seems to generated from reportbug program,
and you don't have installed the "libg15daemon-client1"
dependency, which is required to run g15daemon.

So I think something was wrong on your installation.

Sorry for the late reply (in facts today is the first anniversary
of the bug).
