Package: firebird2.0-server-common
Version: 2.0.4.13130-1.ds1-4
Severity: minor

Firebird's security database located
in /var/lib/firebird/2.0/system/security.fdb has a wrong name. In
Firebird 2.0.x the database should be named firebird2.fdb due to changes
betweent Firebird 1.5 and 2.0. There is also a symbolic link placed
in /usr/lib/firebird/2.0 named security2.fdb and leading
to /var/lib/firebird/2.0/system/security.fdb.

Is there any particular reason for the wrong name?

It uses the name that is expected by the tools that use it.

The name is correct. The fact that there are changes between version
is reflected by the path (/var/lib/firebird/*2.0*/). There is no
chance of accidental usage of 1.5's security.fdb in 2.0. Upstream
always installs in the same directory, so they had to change the name
when the internal structure changed.
