Package: powermgmt-base
Version: 1.6
Severity: normal

Since I have enabled a few ACPI options in my kernel (see below), "on_ac_power"
cannot determine my system state anymore, it returns 255.

My computer is not a laptop, but a normal desktop PC with an ABIT KT7
motherboard.

I had previously enabled APM only and it did not cause any problem.

But now with both APM and ACPI on, the kernel does not make /proc/apm
available anymore (although it is still enabled in kernel, maybe due to ACPI
presence ?), and without surprise on_ac_power fails on the APM test. And it
fails
on the acpi state test too, since I do not have any
"/proc/acpi/ac_adapter/0/status"
file, cause I did not enabled the CONFIG_ACPI_AC kernel option since my computer
is not a laptop.

So my bug report is basically to show that in some certain
circumstances, the tests are wrong. Maybe they should rely on symbols
present in /boos/System.map or a few more steps.

The main problem of this is that some tasks (ex: anacron) won't
launch themselves without "on_ac_power" returning 0...

Hi,

I'm closing this bug as it has been fixed in the recently released
Debian Sarge distribution.

Cheers,
