after installing tightvncserver and login to gnome the keyboard-layout is 
completely weird (/ = return....)
on etch it worked without any troubles
as workaround i tried to install vnc4server and then everything works fine
i can reproduce it at will by installing tightvncserver or vnc4server
my keyboard-layt is german
i am using a default microsoft natural keyboard
