Hi,
The autocomplete widget can freeze IceWeasel or Galeon here -- and I
suppose any Gecko based browser -- in some cases. I reproduce this
with the Apache2 configuration I proposed in my other wishlist bug
report by visiting:
<http://127.0.0.1/yui/examples/autocomplete/ysearch_flat.html>
and by typing anything in the first input box, then waiting a second.
The CPU then pegs to 100% suggesting an infinite loop in the JS, and I
can see a thin gray line under the input box which suggests it might be
related to this widget.
I do not see any error in my web server log, but even if this is caused
by a misconfiguration of the server, the JS should not peg the CPU.

- many new upstream versions since then
- most likely an issue with iceweasel, not with yui
