Package: jaaa
Version: 0.4.2-1
Severity: important
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi,

When starting jaaa, I see:

matth...@xanthe:~$ jaaa
jaaa: error while loading shared libraries: libjack-0.100.0.so.0: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory

I indeed have no libjack-0.100.0.so.0, just a libjack.so.0.0.28,
libjack0.so.0 and libjack.so.

Packages.debian.org suggests that this file was present in libjack0
0.116.1-4 (I only found this because m68k ships an older version, see
http://packages.debian.org/sid/libjack0 and
http://packages.debian.org/sid/m68k/libjack0/filelist ).

Assuming that jaaa worked when it was uploaded, I expect that a libjack0
upgrade did indeed break this. It seems this change was discussed on
debian-release: http://osdir.com/ml/debian-release/2009-03/msg00313.html

It seems this package just needs a rebuild, perhaps a trivial control
file update. It still works with the newer libjack packages, adding a
manual symlink makes jaaa work just fine:

/usr/lib$ sudo ln -s libjack.so.0.0.28 libjack-0.100.0.so.0

I'm marking this important, since I expect this breaks for everybody. On
the other hand, it seems unlikely that this has gone unnoticed if this
was the case, so I'm not marking this grave.

Gr.

Matthijs
