It appears that the Gnome "open file" dialog with the heading
"Select a cert to import..." is opened in a "foreground" layer of the
window manager, which it should not.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Menu "Edit -> Preferences".
2. Choose "Certificates"
3. Choose the "Authorities" tab.
4. Click the "Import" button to import a certificate. The Gnome "open
file" dialog with the heading "Select a cert to import..." will open.
5. Curse that you cannot open a cert file $HOME/.something/foo.crt in a
"dot" directory and copy the file to $HOME/foo.crt. (optional step)
6. Open foo.crt. This opens the "Certificate Authority Trust" dialog.
This dialog is "behind" the "Select a cert to import..." dialog, so
you have to move the latter out of the way to see the one you're
dealing with now.
7. Click the "view certificate" button in the "Certificate Authority
Trust" dialog. The "Certificate Viewer" window will again be "behind"
the "Select a cert to import..." dialog.

Upstream bugzilla and git say this bug has been fixed in commit
fe6ce719e4fab275a7f8cefc26be63752d210986 and released first in EVOLUTION_2_8_0.
If unfortunately, you still experience this bug, please reopen it using 'found
bugnumber version' in the syntax to [email protected]:
