If I run the following after the XMPP module is loaded:

Too bad you can't reproduce it. Although there definitely is (or was) a
bug in either irssi or irssi-xmpp, I'm tagging this bug as
unreproducible and closing it since nobody, even you as the submitter,
is able to reproduce it.
If anybody else every experiences this bug, please provide a way to
reproduce it so that we can reopen it and investigate.
