This was reverted on purpose. While this behaviour is annoying, this is
how it has been upstream for years and it appears it is unlikely to
change upstream. I don't feel it's worth continuing to diverge there,
especially when all the documentation around profile management in
firefox points to using both arguments.
There may be a need for a NEWS item, though I'm unsure this is used
broadly enough to grant that. Let's see if more similar bugs are
reported.
