Hi,
Slrn refuses to start the first time it detects that groups have been
removed from the server. The second time you start slrn (when the
newsrc file has been written) everything works all right.
e.g.:
| slrn pre0.9.9-111
| Loading /usr/share/slrn/slang/slrn.sl
| Reading startup file /etc/news/slrn.rc.
| Reading startup file /home/bus/.slrnrc.
| Using newsrc file /home/bus/.newsrc.mb-net for server news.mb-net.net.
| Connecting to host news.mb-net.net ...
| Connected to host. Posting ok.
| Checking for new groups ...
| Checking news via active file ...

The detection of bogus groups has been turned to an nonfatal message in
version 0.9.9~pre129, i.e. slrn does not quit anymore, if such groups
were found.
129. src/group.c: An error was being generated when bogus groups were
found causing slrn to exit upon startup.
Bye, Jörg.
