Package: quintuple-agent
Version: 1.0.3
Severity: wishlist
one of the few things i'd somehow like to have would be a
real-time detection of the DISPLAY when querying for some secret.
eg. q-agent does not use the DISPLAY that was available when it started
but the DISPLAY q-client passes when it asks for a secret.
what would the benefits be?
i'd be able to add new secrets to the cache on my "homebase" box remotely
while using an ssh connection to the box,
in the same manner as if i was in front of the actual console.
currently on-demand querying is restricted to the static
(remote) DISPLAY q-agent knows from its start.
drawbacks:
q-client would have to have a way of passing the DISPLAY variable
to q-agent together with the query.
also if the connection between DISPLAY and q-agent host is insecure,
the passphrase would be transmitted insecurely. therefore the behaviour
i'd like to see should definitely not be default but optional.
comments? other gaping security holes i've missed?
regards
az
