Package: gnus
Version: 5.10.6-0.CVS.20050317-1
Severity: minor

This bug is in the "no problem is too minor to support" category...

I upgraded to gnus 5.6.10-0.CVS.20050317-1 and emacs 21.4a-1 at the
same time, so I can't be sure which of the two upgrades caused this
problem.

It used to be that, when I started gnus in an emacs using the X
display, I got a graphical gnu instead of a text gnu. Now I get a gnu
drawn with characters just like when you start gnus in a terminal.
After the gnus logo is displayed, a buffer consisting of several lines
containing only whitespace characters displays. Since I have
show-trailing-whitespace set to t, this is visually disruptive.

I don't really care about this, but since it's a change that decreases
the aesthetics of gnus on startup, I thought it was worth reporting.
Too bad there isn't a category lower than minor (other than
wishlist). :-)
