I use libsoup for my package bitlbee, because libsoup offers https client
support which uses gnutls, unlike most other libs, which use the infamous
GPL-incompatible openssl.
Anyway, libsoup still chokes on a bug in the Passport servers; they send a
non-empty reply with a Content-Length: 0 header. I wrote a little patch
which makes libsoup a bit less picky about this. I sent the patch to
upstream, but I don't know when they're going to release a new version.
Because BitlBee is quite useless for a lot of users without the MSN support,
I would love to see a fixed version of libsoup in Debian. If you don't have
the time for this, please just give me permission to do an NMU for this.

The libsoup2.0 package has been removed from testing and unstable at my
request because it fails to build from source with gcc-4.0 and is no longer
used by any packages in unstable. As a result, I believe all of these bugs
can be closed.
