Package: webfs
Version: 1.21-2
Severity: normal

Webfsd doesn't appear to handle really large files (4.4 GB DVD ISOs) correctly.
It displays their size correctly (4464 GB), but when one tries to download
them, they come back as empty. Other files work, so webfs is not wholly broken.

Versions of packages webfs depends on:

ii libc6 2.3.5-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an
ii libssl0.9.7 0.9.7g-5 SSL shared libraries

webfs recommends no packages.

I have now checked the behaviour of Webfs for files of sizes
3.2 GB and 6.3 GB. They are transferred correctly in size as
well as using "md5sum" to reflect bit-content.

The checks were made using webfs_1.21+ds1-2 on a system using Lenny.
Bearing in mind that the relevant source file 'GNUMakefile' contains
the relevant macros

   CFLAGS += -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64

already in June 2004, it seems plausible that the observations made
by the submitter were caused by some local conditions, rather than
depending on the package webfs_1.21-2 per se.

Having tested the LFS functionality to my satisfaction,
I hereby close this bug report without further alteration
of any source code.

Best regards,
