Package: dhcp
Version: 2.0pl5-8
Severity: normal

When configuring the interfaces for dhcpd to listen on I specified two
interfaces, one of which was not configured. The daemon quite
reasonably failed to start on that interface but:

Feb 9 11:46:38 zebulon dhcpd-2.2.x: No subnet declaration for eth1 (0.0.0.0).
Feb 9 11:46:38 zebulon dhcpd-2.2.x: Please write a subnet declaration in your
dhcpd.conf file for the
Feb 9 11:46:38 zebulon dhcpd-2.2.x: network segment to which interface eth1 is
attached.
Feb 9 11:46:38 zebulon dhcpd-2.2.x: exiting.

it then exited completely. If this is the general error handling
strategy it doesn't strike me as terribly robust. It would be much
nicer if the daemon logged an error and then ignored that interface or
waited for it to become ready.

You filed the bug http://bugs.debian.org/133081 in Debian BTS
against the package dhcp. I'm closing it at *unstable*, but it will
remain open for older distributions.

For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/446386. That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed and suggestions of possible replacements.

Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.

Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
