Package: gdm
Version: 2.18.1-2
Severity: normal

dpkg-reconfigure gdm creates the file /etc/X11/default-display-manager
with /usr/bin/gdm.
Yet there is no /usr/bin/gdm, only /usr/sbin/gdm.
Also, the startup script has the somewhat artifical distinction between
DAEMON (with the correct path) and DEBCONF_DAEMON (with the wrong path).
It seems that in gdm.templates, gdm/daemon_name, the default is
/usr/bin/gdm, for whatever reason (Is there actually a good reason to
make the gdm path configurable via debconf, imo no)

This is all quite confusing imo and should be cleaned up and simplified.

Cheers,
Michael

   * debian/patches/69_hurd_gdm_reset_locale.patch:
     - Don't implement gdm_reset_locale() only if RLIM_NLIMITS is defined,
       since it has nothing to do with it and it's undefined on the Hurd.

   * gdm.config, gdm.postinst, gdm.postrm: in config, move
     /etc/X11/default-display-manager away instead of removing it. Delete it
