I'm glad it uses plain text files as a back-end.
The main reason I'm writing is to suggest that its
install script execute the following command after
reconfiguring apache2
$ /etc/init.d/apache2 restart
It would let users immediately see

Hello,
I fixed that in the version 0.0.20091225c-3 of the package dokuwiki,
that is currently in testing and unstable. Now, when installing
dokuwiki, debconf asks you if you want to restart the web server, and
the script does it (in reality, a forced reload, that is enough) at the
end of the installation.
